“Delicious autumn! My very soul is wedded to it, and if I were a bird I would fly about the earth seeking the successive autumns.” — George Eliot
Paris
“I cannot endure to waste anything as precious as autumn sunshine by staying in the house. So I spend almost all the daylight hours in the open air.” — Nathaniel Hawthorne

“Autumn is the eternal corrective. It is ripeness and color and a time of maturity; but it is also breadth, and depth, and distance. What man can stand with autumn on a hilltop and fail to see the span of his world and the meaning of the rolling hills that reach to the far horizon?” — Hal Borland

What is your favorite Autumn travel memory?
I miss Amsterdam, my brother in law live there 🙂
Oh! I didn’t know that, Elra. 🙂 My brother lives there. 🙂 I miss it too!
Where I grew up back east autumn was as simple as taking a Sunday drive or walking the streets of my neighbourhood with autumn hued leaves underfoot. It surrounded us with comfort.
Oh Krista, missed ya too!!
And all the lovely travel and times here!!
Stunningly beautiful pics dat make me fall in love with nature all over again…beautifully…
And love the breakfast happening around…hungry arent i?
The colours of autumn leaves are stunning, its my favourite time of the year. I love this house at Versailles village, wonderful.
That sounds so beautiful, Val. 🙂 Where did you grow up?
I agree, Anna!! They’re so vivid and cheering. 🙂
The smell of wood-burning fireplaces…
What beautiful pics! I love fall foliage. I live in Austin, Texas, where we only have a few days of it if any! So I love seeing pics of places that do have it. Those Metro signs in Paris are so cute.
Beautiful.
Hmmm. My favorite Autumn memory is probably in the North Georgia Mountains in a log cabin.
I love all of these autumn quotes! It certainly is the prettiest season, as evidenced by your pictures. My favorite autumn memory is of apple picking with my best friends a few years ago. It was so much fun.
If I was in Nova Scotia, I would make this in a moment. Sadly, no sauerkraut here in Korea.
i would probably head to paris for our honey moon. it seems like a romantic place to be eh??
have a lovely weekend 🙂

I took a trip to Irian Jaya, Indonesia when I was 19 and came back at the end of October – the very last days of autumn in northern BC. I was sitting by the window of the Greyhound bus looking out at an exceptionally picturesque stretch of BC to drive at twilight – 100 mile house to Williams Lake, and I remember marvelling that a sunset that takes 15 minutes at the equator could linger for 2 hours in this beautiful part of the world.
