Cloudy Day Breakfast

It’s a dark, cloudy morning. The sort of morning where I want cozy things like:

Hot spearmint tea…

Glowing lanterns…

…and a rather scrumptious breakfast.

Scrambled eggs “with all the fixins” are one of my favorite rainy day breakfasts. I love them with scallions, tomato, salmon and chunks of melty goat cheese drizzled with green Tabasco sauce. A side of toasted prosciutto is never amiss.

This morning I get to have breakfast with friends from Germany and am so excited to see them. I love starting my day with great people, good conversation and something delicious and hearty.

What’s your favorite breakfast?

Alina - What a tempting mint tea, it looks so refreshing to me (although it is really hot). Great photo!

Barbara - Can I have breakfast at your house??

Lorraine @NotQuiteNigella - Hmm good question! My favourite breakfast would have to be scrambled or poached eggs with black forest ham and a good hollandaise! 😀 every time I look at your site Krista, I stare at the luscious strawberry on the top header!

mlle paradis - p.s.: favorite cold food? guacamole and chips!

hope you had a good one with your german friends!

mlle paradis - oops! i tried to leave a comment earlier today and did not scroll down to find this comment box! (not enough sleep last nite!) and at that point you got me really hungry thinking about breakfast and i had to go EAT! which reminds me: re: your post with the guacamole what, yesterday? it made me realize, instead of being one of those people who gets “DNR” – (do not resuscitate ) – tattooed on their chest towards the end of life, i’ll need: “guacamole and chips!” i can’t wait!

Tracy Myers - My favorite breakfast is the hash browns my hubby makes from scratch, with his amazing omelet (with lots of cheese) and a piece of golden brown toast, a cup of English Breakfast tea, and good company, (preferably his).

RamblingTart - Aww, thanks, Oliver! 🙂 You’re right – sausage would be a fantastic addition. 🙂

RamblingTart - Thank you, Sook! 🙂 It was so very delicious. 🙂

Oliver - I Wish Gap Year - That looks

AMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMAAAAAAAAAAAAAAZZZZZZZZZZZZZZIIIIIIIIIIIIIIINNNNNNNNNNNNNNGGGGGGGGGGGGG.

Now you just need Sausage and it’ll be perfect 🙂

Sook - Oh the egg dish with fresh tomatoes and cheese looks fabulous! A perfect breakfast!!

RamblingTart - It did go through, Blond Duck! 🙂 I’m so glad you like it. 🙂

RamblingTart - It really is, Blond Duck. 🙂 It gets so smooth and creamy and tastes divine. 🙂

RamblingTart - Eggs Florentine – I’ve never had them, Mary, but they sound wonderful!! 🙂 Now I have to search them out. 🙂

Blond Duck - I’m not sure if this went through, but that looks wonderful! Yum!

Blond Duck - I never thought of goat cheese in eggs! Yum! That sounds really good!

Mary - What a lovely way to start the day. My favorite starter has to be eggs Florentine or fried rice. I hope you are having a great day. Blessings…Mary
