My name is Krista and I'm a 30-something Danish-Canadian lass who loves to write, travel and cook with people I love.
I am a writer. My first article was published when I was a 12-year-old girl living in Canada and dreaming of being a real writer. Since then I've written for all sorts of projects and people from newspapers, magazines and books to prisoners, artists, and real estate agents. I've loved all of it, but my favorite things to write about are travel, food, and fascinating people.
I am a traveler. I have been traveling and exploring for 18 years and love every amazing, embarrassing, and wonderful moment. I've traveled by train, boat, plane, foot, and car and each one has its own delights. I've lived on a boat in Russia, in an apartment in Portugal, and now make my home in beautiful Amsterdam, saving my pennies to move to Australia this fall.
I am a photographer. I love capturing the world around me through grand vistas and beloved monuments to favorite meals and teensy flowers on the forest floor. Recording daily life is sheer delight.
I am a food lover. A simple girl at heart, I'm equally happy sitting around a campfire roasting marshmallows or digging in to a 5-course dinner at a Parisian hotspot. While I don't mind cooking just for me, I find it way more fun to cook for my family and friends, everyone clustered around the kitchen counter nattering away while I stir, roast, and simmer.
I'm just me. I love old books, classic movies, singing along with Bing Crosby, and going treasure hunting in thrift stores. I can't get enough of camping, hiking, and sitting by the ocean. And I'm never happier than when curled up in a comfy chair, coffee in hand, chatting away with a dear friend.
When I'm not traveling for work or pleasure, I am supremely happy on a little farm in rural Queensland, Australia, collecting eggs, feeding my goats, and puttering in my garden.
